To Whom It May Concern:

I just want to let you all know how much I appreciate the assistance you all gave me in finding employment. I was referred to Medical Professionals by the CAPS program. When I spoke with Will Johnson, he spoke to me about what the VA Division offered.  I started the process to be aided with employment and housing. Jackie Coleman, the Job Coordinator, placed a call to the company and had my application filled. I received a call a few hours later for an interview. On that day, I was interviewed and received an offer for employment. I started my training on September 18th and I will receive my employment schedule on the September 19. Before I walked into this office, things seemed hopeless, but with one phone call, my life changed in an instant.

My name is J. Hoskins and I would like to honorably mention the VIP staff for their uniting services. These men commitment to me in finding a job, housing, food, and clothing have been above and beyond the call of duty. The VIP Program has rekindled my pride in being a Veteran. These gentlemen have shown me that I’m not alone. Thank you for the Veteran Improvement Program. I especially thank the staff for their undying faith in me and their professionalism in assisting me in many matters.

I, T. Stewart, was seen today for intake for employment. I was met by staff that appears professional and my affairs were handled with the utmost respect. I, Tracy Stewart, would like to continue to work with HVRP in helping me find suitable employment. I can tell that staff cares about the veterans and they show a great deal of concern. I am glad that there is a program that assists the veterans.

To Whom It May Concern:

I am a 9 year Veteran and I came to VIP (HVRP) about 4 months ago needing a job as well as legal assistance. The office on 79th and Avalon has given me all of the help that I needed. Mr. Coleman, Mr. Ragsdale, and Mr. Perkins have continually sought to assist me with my needs. I was borderline homeless and my teeth were coming out of my mouth and the staff gave me a letter that got my teeth fixed. They also sent me on 5 or 6 interviews where I was called on 3 temporary job assignments which one turned out to be permanent employment. Please know that I write this letter of my own free will and that this is the type and style of program that is needed to assist the Veterans of not only Chicago, IL but those everywhere who are in need.

To Whom It May Concern:

The Veterans Improvement Program is “a God send” to all Veterans who have entered through their doors. They give people a source of a positive attitude and also give the Veterans a strong chance of employment. The Veterans office, from Mr. Perkins to Mr. Coleman and a host of others, gives us help with love, hope, and encouragement- I myself have been truly blessed.

To Whom It May Concern:

I came through the VIP/HVRP program early in July. My orientation was for a job with a Packaging Company. There was a start date of July 17.  During my first two months, I received a promotion from Packaging Inspector to Baler/ Floor Man. This was all done before my hire date! I’m happy to inform the VIP program that I became an employee of the company on September 17 and I want to thank them for their support.

Thanks to the VIP Program, I have a good start on a good job with a lot of overtime. I have the ability to support myself.  See the light at the end of the tunnel. All the good employees at the VIP Program are an asset to the community.

To Whom It May Concern:

The Veterans Improvement Program (VIP), located 1240 E. 79th St. in Chicago, Illinois does work and it is growing and becoming so efficient. When I initially came to this program, I failed to show up after my 2nd visit. I managed to give the program another try. It was due to the genuine concerns and efforts of Jackie Coleman and Raedell Ragsdale as to why I committed myself that I did. Though I am not on anyone’s payroll today, I am confident that I will work on 2 months for the first time. Real soon, I too, will have a permanent job and my own place. I am confident in pursuit of my goals and dreams because I have support, concern for others for my success, and additional resources from the Veterans Improvement Program. Though I have many challenges that lie ahead, I am an improved veteran since the last 3 days.
